Lightbulb Atlanta Growth

Atlanta grew at a rate of more than 7% last year... it added another 133,430 new households, putting Atlanta just under the 2 million households mark, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The odd part is, Atlanta seems to be accommodating this phenomenal growth quite well... anyone disagree?

I fully believe it. We live about 2 and half hours south of Atlanta and it seems like every year the city gets closer and closer. When we first moved here 16 years ago, Atlanta was a distant rumor. Now it feels almost like we are in the metro area! What's it going to be like in a couple of years?

I'm new to Atlanta, I guess. I've been a couple of times in the last year though and seems like they're doing a pretty fine job of keeping up with the growth. We've lived in several good sized cities and Atlanta compares very well with them. The roads are generally good and there aren't TOO many traffic jams!

Talking Atlanta's the Best!

A new report has listed Atlanta as having the best roads of any Metro area in the US. A study by The Road Information Program (TRIP) gave Atlanta top marks... none of its roads were ranked "poor" and only 3% ranked "mediocre."

Good call teach4life!

Smile

I read in the paper that Atlanta is expanding its bus service to include the outlaying areas. That should cut down on the amount of traffic in the city, I would thiink. How is the news being taken in Atlanta?

So far everything I've heard had been positive. Anyone heard differently?
