Wind Down Wednesdays featuring Bobby Yang
Sandy Springs, Ga.; April 2, 2008: Heritage Sandy Springs and the Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce present Wind Down Wednesdays, a spring time series of outdoor concerts on the Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn at Heritage Green. The “after work” performances offer a welcome relief from five o’clock rush hour.
On Wednesday, April 23 classically trained violinist turned nationally recognized rock artist Bobby Yang and his Unrivaled Players will perform instrumental tributes to classic rock anthems. Yang’s violin acts as both the lead singer and guitarist, as the songs of Led Zeppelin, RUSH and other rock legends become instrumental jams. Besides performing with his Unrivaled Players, Yang is the full-time fiddler in Kevin Costner’s new band Modern West. Yang has also worked closely with Butch Walker, Avril Lavigne, Cowboy Mouth, Default and 311 producer Ron Saint Germain.
“I started playing violin at the age of five, but for the first 15 years of my life the only music I chose to listen to was either on rock radio or MTV,” Yang says. “I strive to make every note a pearl, as if each bow stroke could be my last.”
Sponsors for Wind Down Wednesdays include Meehan’s Public House, Sandy Springs Reporter and City Walk Heights.
