Atlanta's made up of several excellent neighborhoods, suburbs and exurbs, but if you're talking about in-town neighborhoods, the key ones are: Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, & Virginia Highlands.

The Metro area encompasses several counties and has the range of neighborhoods you'd expect in such a large community. What exactly are you looking for?

not looking for anything in downtown atlanta rather something outside. houses in the 250 range, gated and GOOD schools. we're concerned about our kids and will take a longer commute. we'll both be working at georgia tech so want something on that side of town. thanks

We're working on an answer for you, rcjenngs01... your best bet may be to give a realtor a call and ask them. Atlanta is HUGE, and has so many neighborhoods, suburbs and exurbs that it's kind of daunting looking for the right place.

Look here for a realtor and good luck!

well thanks for looking. that was a broad question and believ me i've been looking through realtor booklets and online for a while. i was hoping that there was an easy way to avoid all the work but i guess there itsn't. i'll just find a realtor and go from there!

Try Cobb county. I've made several friends that live there and it is just perfect. I mean it has everything you need and there are great things for the family - swim clubs and tennis, golf courses and great schools (so I've heard).

I'm not real familiar with Atlanta but Cobb county has really impressed me! Good luck in your house hunt!
