Places to eat in Midtown Atlanta

We travel to Atlanta every so often on business and stay in Midtown. Since driving in Atlanta can be a real hassle, we've explored most of Midtown on foot and found some really cool places to eat. Here are a few suggestions:

Twisted Taco - A new twist on California-fresh Mexican cuisine with an innovative take on great Mexican food in an exciting high-energy bar environment. We met at Twisted Taco for a business meeting, but we had so much fun it quickly turned into a NON business meeting! Great food and AWESOME variety of salsas. Upstairs looks like a great place to watch a game or have a private party.

Front Page News - Crescent Avenue in Midtown boasts lots of cool places to eat and drink... and one of the coolest is Front Page News. Considered the best courtyard and patio bar in Atlanta, Front Page is a perfect place for a casual date or hanging out with friends. Food is awesome, service is great and the courtyard makes you feel like you're dining in the French Quarter. Great selection of beer and drinks.

Shout - Located in Colony Square (the mall at the Sheraton), Shout's menu consists of tapas, influenced from the Mediterranean, South America and the far east. Shout has a sushi bar and wood burning oven as well. The roof-top lounge provides a great atmosphere for having a drink and watching the action in Midtown. This place has also become quite a cool hangout for locals on Saturday nights.

Vinocity - Vinocity is one of Atlanta's premier wine and food experiences. The wine bar boasts over 70 wines by the glass, and the wine is paired with the food perfectly. Vinocity has been carefully crafted to be the place for wine enthusiasts to enjoy amazing food. If you love wine and are looking for thoughtfully paired dinner, Vinocity is a must do!

Nan Thai Fine Dining - Chef Mrs. Nan prepares Thai Cuisine in a Fine Dining atmosphere. True culinary artistry is served in a large elegant dining room, accented by cream banquettes, silk pillows, red columns and mood lighting. Nan is a must-do if you enjoy Thai cuisine.

More Atlanta Restaurants, including videos, maps, reviews, website links and more!

And if you have any suggestions, please post them here! We're always looking for more places to try!

Ecco

I just tried this place last time I was in Atlanta, and it's my new favorite. Not only is the dining room so stylish without being trendy at all, the food is great, and the service is, too. Kenny Rogers was two tables away...not that I'm using THAT as a reason, but it was kind of fun. They do really interesting foods, always an unusual ingredient you won't see everywhere else, and high quality all around. It's owned by one of the restaurant "families" of Atlanta, so they were able to hand-pick the staff, and it's all around fantastic.

Cool! I'll put Ecco on the list for our next trip. Will we be seeing them in the Top 5 anytime soon?
