Margits Top 5 Southern Cuisine
In this edition, Margit shows us some fine southern food in Atlanta. Pick number 5, The Sweet Lowdown mixes traditional southern cooking with flavors from all over the world to create what they call "New Southern"

Check out #4, Mary Mac's Tea Room! One of my favorite places in ATL. Great place to get lunch/ True Southern Comfort Food! Just like Granny used to make!

Cafe 640's Chicken Fried Biscuit has got to be on this list! Awesome brunch with a gourmet southern twist! Boneless chicken with a mushroom sauce on a biscuit and two eggs! Amazing!

West Egg is another great one. I don't know if I'd put this in the "southern comfort" category per se, but this is definitely a great restaurant

Welcome to the forums wafflehorse!
Thanks for all the great input - we're always looking for some local perspective in Atlanta. I'm sure our forum members and readers appreciate your tips and advice. I'll definitely be checking out Cafe 640 and West Egg next time I'm in ATL.
