As huge NBA fans that will be in town soon, I'm looking for the best places in PCB (or 30A) to watch the NBA Playoffs.... From big screens, hosted playoff parties, cozy comfortable lounges, drinks and the largest selection of draught beer... any and all suggestions are needed! Thanks!!

NBA on 30A
Well i will try and redeem myself and actually post some info that may be helpful. (as you joked in another post, one too many martinis may have had me mixed up on who was looking for what and where....but i am clear headed this morning...lol)
As for 30A, you are probably not going to find any HUGE sports bars...everything in that corridor tends to be smaller, "classier" (don't confuse this with boring thought, they all party hard and have fun out there), and more intimate....BUT Shades on the Loop is the WINNER! They have over 30 beers on draft, numerous flat screen high def TV, and unlike most sports bars the food is not terrible...its in fact a chef driven cluinary delight! Past Shades....its a tough call. In Destin Angler's is fun and if you are looking for a hybrid sports experience, try O'Quigleys...they luv their sports but they also love the atmosphere of a party bar with a DJ, video screen, towers of beer, loads of people dancing and hacing fun, food, the list goes on and on... Hope that helps...enjoy the games and keep me posted on what you decide as I will defaintely catch up for a cold one or two... Randy Peterson |

Thanks Randy... those are great suggestions. Especially Shade's with their great selection of beer (Blue Moon!).
A couple more suggestions for PCB are Pineapple Willy's (they always have the playoffs on every TV) and Calypso Cafe (great restaurant on the West end with lots of big screens and great views from every table). Food is great at both places, too. Good luck! |

Thanks for the suggestions!!
I'd forgotten about Calypso's, thanks for the reminder. Pineapple Willys: While any place that not only features JDSB but uses it in some of the dishes holds a special place in my heart ;) , I think Shades is probably what I'm looking for. Tap beer suggestions to try are welcome! |

Had a great time at Shades last night, despite the *** whopping the Pistons handed the Heat.... great beer, excellent food (mahi/blue cheese sandwich).
