Ummm, ok... I got sweet-talked into taking my young charge to the La Vela concert on whichever night the Lucas Prata concert was last week... There's a 15 year age difference between us and I knew she wanted to hang out with some local boys her age, so I wasn't expecting to have a blast myself, but... well, it sucked. And I'm not saying this from a 35 year old's perspective either, because after 50 bucks to get in and 15 minutes there, she tells me how seriously lame it was. Within 3 minutes of hitting the place, a guy I'll just call the "Shirtless Wonder" comes up and whips out the worst pick up lines in history on her, her stony stare finally sending him back under the rock from which he evidently slithered out. (Hint to the boys, if you want to get in good w/ the girl, you really need to make a good impression on her friends or guardians as well...)

LAME. And she was right. WOW. For some reason Lucas Prata's backup dancers (there were only 2) were male, and were doing moves which I swear came right out of my Turbo Jam DVD.

We tolerated it for thirty minutes, during which time she also commented in the stink coming from the waterfall (when the hell are they ever going to treat that thing?), and bolted.

This is the guy who is "famous for "Ma Ya Hi".... Think I'm too harsh, maybe exaggertating?? Click this link to share in my pain, or for a good laugh...
