The fishing in the Destin area is out of this world. Anyone, and I mean anyone can catch some huge fish in Destin. Why only a few weeks asgo a friend of mine who has never fished in her life caught two 40 pound cobias in Destin. She was fishing with skilled fisherman, but nonethelessit just goes to show that anyone can fish in these magnificent waters of Destin.

Speaking of fishing in Destin... there are two great tournaments coming up this summer.

This month, (June 18-22) Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is hosting the FIRST-EVER Emerald Coast Marlin Classic which is sure to be a huge event. Just glancing at the schedule of events, it looks like this will be Destin's version of the well-known Bay Point Billfish Invitational in Panama City Beach, which draws in hundreds of thousands of people over the 4 days. I'm betting that the Emerald Coast Marlin Classic will become one of the most anticipated events of summertime in Destin.

In August, the Dog Days Billfish Tournament invites fisherman and boat captains to show why Destin is considered the "Billfish Capital of the World".

somehow i just find fishing by anglers to be just as relaxing than bustling with the destin traffic + the pier has a good view.

Do you guys have any recommendations for charter service in Destin. I'll be there from the July 9-14 and would like to get in some good fishing.

I didn't get to go, but my family booked a trip with Sunrise Charters and really enjoyed it.
