Atten Tourists coming to Destin
If your a tourist coming to Destin please remember there's only one highway that leads from one part of town to pensacola to panama city.
What's been happening a lot - (at least i've been hearing a lot about this on my scanner) is people getting stupid on the road and flooring it and/or riding each other's ***. this is stupid and dangerous this causes accidents One day my mom was coming home and some accident happened around hurlburt field (near florosa/navarre) and an accident happen she sat for an hour with no traffic movement. My thoughts were "damn tourists" but you people bring $$$ to this starving area (yes it is starving since there's no jobs that are worth a damn here) please keep this in mind while traveling in destin/fwb/navarre (this should apply to locals here also not just the tourists) 1) obey speed limits (i know it's tempting to do 100 - believe me i know but there's no rush.. your on vacation) 2) don't switch lanes stay on your own unless you need to turn. 3)give some breathing room if you can read the details on a license plate your too close. cops should ticket people for doing this. remember this is a 2 lane highway which should be at least 4 or 5 lanes each side. people need to excercise more caution on the road. -end of rant- tdtvro - http://www.tvro.us & http://www.cband.info |

Traffic is absolutely terrible this time of year. Definitely beware. Parts of 98 are being expanded though, slowly but surely. Most of Highway 98 between Sandetin and Panama City is expanding to two lanes each side (finally). The construction was supposed to be done by Memorial Day but isn't finished yet to my knowledge(I haven't been into Destin in a few weeks). Either way please be careful on the road, especially tourists. It seems like there are automobile deaths in the paper all the time now. Please be careful and have a great time on the Emerald Coast!

We need more police and they need to lighten up on the waits on the red lights in farce walton beach. I'm starting to dislike this place day in and day out. its the perfect place to visit but moving here is kinda.. arrgh. Maybe if i ever go to OWCC and graduate i may sell this house and move north where the weather actually changes from season to season. here its two seasons - hot and construction.
