Does anyone know about the homes and pool in Destiny by the Sea? I am also interested in the Crabtrap. We are scheduled to arrive in Destin on Oct. 9. Are there a lot of restaurants reopening?

We drove around Destiny and almost all of the homes look virtually untouched. I'm sure that some of the beachfront porches and things facing the ocean might have been damaged, but other than that, you couldn't tell that a hurricane had come through.

Crab Trap is back up and running. The parking lot is in decent but not great shape. The picnic pavillions got pretty trashed and most if not all of them will have to be rebuilt. Triathlonis going on there on Saturday morning.

Just about all the restaurants are now open. The only ones I've seen that looked like they suffered major damage were Captain Dave's and Pompano Joe's. (With Joe's, the building is in good shape, but the sand under the parking lot got washed out and it took a bit before you could safely get from 98 to the front door)
