Flying in to Destin on Friday!!! I can't wait. We will get a great veiw of things from air. I'll try to get pix. Talked to our condo yesterday. (for about the 3rd time.) Assured that everything is ok. Pool has been drained and refilled. She said that we would probably see sign damage and tree damage. Majority of stores and resturants open. Few exceptions on Old 98. I believe maybe P. Joes? Donut Hole is still closed she also said.
Hey as long as the sun is shinning and the sand is there, thats all Ill need.
I willl update when we return to Kentucky.

Had heard that Pompano Joe's was now open. Just throwing that out there. Fall break next week so we are coming down as well. Enjoy you trip. A fellow Kentuckian.

Does anyone know if 98 between FW and Destin has opened yet? If not, when? Just curious. Planning my route.

I hear that Hwy 98 was fixed three days after it was blown away - amazing! Of course, it's slow going, cos it's only one way, but... it is fixed!

Yes... we traveled 98 from PCB to Pcola on Monday... Okaloosa Island is down to 2 lanes for about a 2 mile stretch.

Traffic wasn't too bad. It slowed a little at the bottleneck.

The storm really washed away alot of sand dunes on the island... you can now see the gulf from the highway on about half the island.
