I have a fake ID that has worked just fine for me for about a year. Its a real ID, just with someone else's picture who resembles me. I'm 18, have a full grown beard and look easily 21. My friends and I will be bringing handles down in the car but we don't want to travel 12 hours with cases of beer in the back, so we figured we'd buy some beer once in the general area of Destin. My question is this: Are there any good places to buy beer (like gas stations) that won't take up my ID (or don't really care), and are the underage drinking laws in Destin strictly enforced; because I fully intend on drinking some beer on the beach at night.

So if anyone could let me know of some good spots, past experiences, or overall impressions I'd appreciate it.

When you planning on being down there? Also where are you staying at? I know when I was there in july we were drinking on the beach and saw some kids get in trouble for drinking..i am 22 so i dont have a problem, but as far as getting beer....i didnt have a problem at the walmart...i dont look 22 and I never got carded...if your going to be down there between march 5-12 let me know..me and some friends are going to be down there and looking for some people(girls) to hang out

I'll be there march 21-27. We're staying at some half-star rated place called the Suburban Hotel Destin, supposedly 1/2 mile from the beach. Thanks for your help.

Last Springbreak and October, there were radio annoucements about no tolerance of underage drinking and cops on ATVs running up and down Destin beach in front of Majestic Sun and on. A cop stopped at our chairs and gave us a warning for Corona in the bottle. It must be cup or can. They were clearly looking for underage drinkers, too. Be careful, keep it in a colored cup! PS they check coolers too.
