I was just wondering if there is anything anyone can tell me about the weather in Destin right now, because my husband and I are supposed to come this weekend (Sunday) to celebrate our 1st anniversary there for a week.

Looks like it's just as nice as PCB right now... sunny, warm and breezy.

Weather this weekend will probably be affected by Hurricane Dennis... but it's still a ways off so there's no telling where it will mke landfall. Anywhere from Mexico to South Florida is my guess ;). Sometime late Sunday/early Monday.

Hopefully Destin will NOT be in Dennis' path. If not, any rain associated with Dennis should move out quickly and make way for several days of really nice weather.

If Destin does end up near the center or take a direct hit, it might not be a good week to be in Destin. This looks like it will be a powerful storm wherever it ends up.

Have you heard any news for Fort Walton Beach? Just wondering about Santa Rosa blvd......

No news yet on that area, but I'm sure there was some damage. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I'm guessing Keith evacuated and will be back soon. He lives and works in the Destin/Niceville area and will know a little more about the situation there. Hopefully his home fared well. Let us know Keith...

One of the national networks said that 98 was knocked out (as usual) on Okaloosa Island. I hope not for the area residents (and visitors). No short detour on that one! Any word?

We are supposed to be in destin July 16. How are the beaches around the Maravilla resort. This is were we will be staying and we are getting conflicting reports.
