We are headed to Destin for a week August 6th. Can anyone tell us about the beaches at Majestic Sun, and if hwy 98 is up and running from I10? We are coming from NOLA.

Good afternoon Grace.

The beach in front of Majestic Sun is open and beach services are in place. There is a tremendous amount of activity going on at the beach due to crossovers being repaired and dunes being placed. As a sidenote for travelers reconsidering changing their trip plans. The DEP has approved scrapings to begin on the beaches and other issues with beach nourishment are nearing conclusion.

We are hopeful that the top of the Whales Tail will be open this weekend.

As for I-10? I am not sure but to my knowledge it is open.
