Coral Reef Club--Reopening?
Hello all--this is my first time posting here, and I wanted to thank everyone for putting what info they have online, since it's hard to find out what's going on in the panhandle when you're not there yourself.
I've tried calling the Coral Reef Club (2708 E 98, just south of 30 where it connects with 293) but their number is either busy or verizon says I've dialed it improperly. Businesses I've called in the area say most places have either rebuilt or are waiting on permits/etc and want to rebuild, but no one seems to be sure about the Coral Reef. I was wondering if anyone knows how bad the damage was, and if they're going to rebuild or repair, and when that might happen. We're hoping to go back next summer. Thanks! |

What little I know
I was there the first week of April and last October and neither time did I see them doing anything to that place. Will be going back the first of July and will let you know for sure what I see.

Didn't look good
O.K. I will preface this by saying I may be wrong. If the Coral Reef Club is at the end of Matthew Drive and is the first condo you come to before turning left onto Old Highway 98, it doesn't look good. It looks like they have done nothing since the hurricane hit. Have been back last October, this April, and in July and didn't see one thing going on there at all. For your sake, I hope I looked at the wrong one.

But what is to the left of Henderson?
Henderson is the gray one with the green roof right? I thought Coral Reef Club was the one beside that? If so, it doesn't look like it's going to reopen anytime soon either.

Thanks
Henderson is the grey one with the green roof, and I heard they are tearing that one down--the building was a bit rundown already. Coral Reef is the bright coral (pinkish) building to the right (if you're facing the ocean) of it, immediately in front of you at the intersection. Thanks for the update--it seems the building has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle, since Abbott Realty sold it to another company, and I guess that company doesn't want to reinvest to fix up the building. Hope they're not putting another condo high-rise in there. We've been going there for probably 15-18 years, and the building has a lot more character than the cookie cutter "resorts" down the way.
