For those of you already in/near Ft. Walton, Pres. Bush is going to be at Eglin today giving a speech. This'd make the perfect opportunity to take a day-trip to the base... they arrange tours, have an excellent musuem - the Air Armament Museum - and other interesting things going on. And you can thank an airman for their service while you're at it!

We are going to be visiting Destin in June, on our trip last year we didn't make it to Eglin, but would like to this year. I visited their web site but didn't find any info on visiting, such as admission prices, times, etc. Do you have any of that information or no where I can go to get it?

Hi samhag 1, welcome to the boards... the museum is just off base, and last I knew is open every day from 9:30 to 4 or 4:30. There wasn't any admission price last time, and I doubt there is now.

This is a very cool museum with some incredible displays of weaponary. You'll enjoy it!

He's right they've got all kinds of cool planes, missiles, guns, and bombs over there. I'm pretty sure it is open til 4:30 p.m.

Went there before Sept. 11, don't know if there's been any changes since.
