Destin During Spring Break??

I was just curious what Destin is like during spring break? I know Panama City Beach is considered the premier spot in Florida for spring break fun but it is just too crowded for me and I am looking for some place else to go. I've heard differing opinions over whether Destin during spring break is for families or college age students.

I'm a college student and looking to have fun and party but in a slighty less crowded place in the panhandle area than Panama City. Are the hotels/condos friendly to the college crowd or do they frown upon them? Is the beach crowded with people or is it very sparse? Whatever you can tell me would be much appreciated Thanks!

I think Destin will be just what you're looking for.

Destin has a very good nightlife almost year 'round, but it's great during Spring Break. You won't have any trouble finding places to party.

There are more families in Destin during Spring Break than PCB (which is about 90% students during March), so you can't get as loud or rowdy in every place... just a few.

Check out The Swamp and Club Overload.. they've got some great Spring Break concerts in March. Nighttown is usually happening during Spring Break and AJ's is always a good time.

I'll see if we can get Randy from Club Hour in here with more suggestions.

I'd say swn5363 summed it up pretty well.

Don't forget that if you do choose to stay in Destin that PCB is roughly 45 mins away. That's not too far to drive for a night or two.

There's quite a big crowd of college kids that come down to Destin. The Whale's Tail is the hotspot, which is across the street from the Majestic Sun and SeaScape condominums. I'd say it's where you'll see the highest concentration of college students. Blue Point, which is in the Destin Commons, our mall, is also a good night spot to check out.

I think swn means Club Overboard.

Destin looking for spring break

You know Destin is a great spot with shopping and everything you would want not to far away and great beach areas. But if your looking to get away from the large amount of people during your spring break check out just west of Destin and Fort Walton take a look at Navarre Beach.
