Hello,

My family and I are coming to Destin for the first time. Well, let me take that back. We are coming to the Destin area. I think we are actually staying in Blue Mountain Beach. Is that far from Destin? Also, I have two children and was interested in the Pirate Cruise, but found out that they close at the end of October. Is that the trend? Will there be many exhibits or excursions for us to participate in? Or are we stuck (and that's not a bad thing) with the beach for our 5 day visit?
Any help would be a appreciated.

You're statying in one of the most beautiful places in our area. Blue Mountain beach is a short 15-20 minutes drive to Destin.

Check out this map (pdf):
Map of Highway 30-A, Beaches of South Walton

I'm sure you'll love Blue Mountain.

There will still be attractions and fun stuff, but it will be limited hours/days in October.

Not sure if you're referring to a Pirate Cruise in Destin... but, the one in Panama City Beach (30 minute drive) runs in October... here's the schedule: Pirate Cruise Calendar

Enjoy your stay!
October is a very relaxing and beautiful time along the Emerald Coast!

Oops! I see you'll be here in November. I was thinking October.

Sorry!

Looks like the Pirate Cruise will be closed. But, it's still a great time to visit. You'll find plenty of things to do...

Thank you. That map was very helpful. Also, I have seen the official weather trackers. Should I expect it to be in the low 70's at the beginning of November?

Low 70s is about right.

If a cold-front moves through, it'll be a little cooler, especially at night.

But it can be quite warm in Novemner when it's sunny.
