That's not funny to those of us that live so far away. A couple of weeks ago, I was looking at both the Sandestin and PCB cams on Tripsmarter and actually checked online to see what it would cost to fly to the Gulf that afternoon!

After rational thought returned, I realized the cam was as close as I was going to get until my next vacation there. At least we can peak in on it all from time to time ...

Next time don't fight the urge Ted, just grab a flight and come on over! Relaxing by the pool or the Gulf, sipping umbrella drinks served by beautiful women while all the rest of the world rushes around... it's great, and you deserve it!

Take a look at the live cam out at Sandestin today - people in the pool, others lounging around the pool, and behind it all blue skies, palm trees and stunning Gulf waters...

Take a look for yourself - and start planning your next trip here!

It's September and the weather is still sunny and clear... and that means the beaches and the pool deck at Sandestin are full of people enjoying their stay in paradise.

Why not take a look? It might be just the thing to convince you to visit Destin soon!

Our Sandestin live cam has been upgraded, and you should see the result! The picture is even clearer and sharper... take a look, it's amazing.

And here's a chance to see something unusual... a storm coming into Destin from the Gulf.

We don't get a lot of "liquid sunshine" down here, but when we do, it sure is something to see!

See for yourself!

Cool ED'S BACK!

Ed's back in town folks, just add vodka and stir, and INSTANT PARTY! Ha! Just saw what you've done to the live cam Dean, you people do great work out there. It looks almost as inviting as the view out my window!

The rain is all gone and back to the great weather. I saw on here somewhere that this is the best time of year for visiting Destin and it's the darned truth. The weather is beautiful and the water is still warm. Although I have to say. I was just in God's green acre up in Nebraska and it was nice seeing the leaves changing colors and all. But that is just three weeks and then the cold hits! So give me the gulf coast any time! Glad to be back!!!!!

Webcam Problems

Hi! I've been lurking around for a while and have attempted several times to view the Webcam but haven't been able to do it successfully. It shows the black screen and after several seconds, says "Sorry, server closed socket". Any ideas? I have a broadband connection and a firewall (it's from work). However there is another webcam site at Ft. Walton that I go to and it works fine (it's a "live" cam that refreshes every few seconds). Any thoughts as to how I would be able to view it? Thanks in advance!

Hi jhowse, and welcome to the forums! I just looked at the webcam myself, and it's working fine. Hmmm, have you tried our Panama City Beach live cams? If you get the same error message there, I'd have to say it's probably a firewall issue.

Try this: after you get the "server socket closed" message, right-click on the page and select "refresh." I've had it happen to me, and that did the trick.

But if this has happened to you several times... let me check around and get input from some others. I'll get back to you when I know more. 'Til then, if anyone else has any suggestions...

Good luck with it!

Just took a look and I'm getting a good picture. Boy it sure does show off the water the waves and the pool area well! While we were back visiting up north I would show my family and their friends the camera here. Ha were they jealous! You could even see the palm trees swaying in the breeze!

jhowse I had a problem like what you were having at my daughter's place. We had to update her internet explorer to get it working. You might try that.

:)

Cool Hurricane Isadore

What Hurricane? The sun is shining! The surf is up a little, but it's beautiful! I wish I was that guy swimming in the pool!

If you take a look at the live cam you'll see the weather coming through... the cam gives a good shot of the beach and the waves coming in. It's not so bad down here now, the rain is heavy at times but the winds haven't been too strong.

Keep an eye on this cam and our Panama City Beach cams for a live view of the Emerald Coast and it's encounter with Isadore!

Cool

The weather's perfect in paradise today... and you can see for yourself on our Sandestin live cam! The high today is supposed to be in the mid 80s with just a few clouds for visual effect.

Click here for our live cam!

If you're planning a visit to Destin anytime soon, don't forget to bring your beach stuff... it's still prime weather for enjoying the water!

Thumbs up

Take a look at it today Dominic... it's a whole different view now! The sun's shining, the water is calm, and the pool deck even has a few people on it.

Check it often, the Gulf changes almost by the minute!
