Eglin Air Force Base is hosting 2002 Open House and Air Show April 27 & 28 with demonstrations by the Air Force Thunderbirds, the Army Golden Knights parachute team, the Air Force Stars parachute team and many others.

The two-day event is free to the public. Gates open at 9am and close at 4:30pm.

The skills on display at the Air Show, as well as the awesome power of the Air Force, are enough to thrill the whole family. I saw the Navy's Blue Angels at Tyndall Air Force base last month, and if the Air Force puts on as good a show, you'll be amazed and excited.

We're going! I've decided to lay off the sand castle building (snicker, snicker) and hit all the air shows in the area. Yep, I figure those gullible little grandkids of mine need something more to be proud of me about than building castles in the sand!

Now if I can just get some pictures of me in my old USAF band uniform getting into the cockpit of a plane I'll be set!
