Seaside Hosts 18th Annual Seeing Red Wine Festival - November 6-9, 2008

Seaside partners with THE Beach to present The Taste of THE Beach on Nov. 8

Seaside, Fla. – (Aug. 21, 2008) Seaside is "seeing red"... again. The coastal holiday town, located on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast in the Beaches of South Walton, will host the 18th annual Seeing Red Wine Festival Nov. 6-9, 2008 throughout the town.

The four-day festival will include wine pairing vintner dinners, al fresco wine tastings, a wine paired brunch, live music and a wine retail sales tent.

New this year, Seaside will partner with THE Beach, a coastal coalition recently formed to collectively market the Gulf Coast as a destination. Seaside invites The Taste of THE Beach to partner on its long standing festival, the result is a grand wine tasting event on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Seaside.

"We are pleased the Seeing Red Wine Festival will be incorporated into THE Beach," said Seaside founder Robert Davis. "Seeing Red has been one of this area's leading culinary events for many years and this relationship will allow us to take this event to the next level."

The Seeing Red Wine Festival will begin on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. with a Vintner Dinner at Seaside's signature restaurant Bud & Alley's. Adam LaZarre of Hahn Estates Winery will be the guest winemaker. Seating is limited. For reservations, call (850) 231-5900.

On Friday, Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Seaside will host its popular Al Fresco Reserve Tasting in Ruskin Place. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy elegantly prepared sushi and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Jim Shirley of Great Southern Café. Guests will taste highly allocated and reserve wines, listen to live chamber music and amid the artful backdrop of Ruskin Place in Seaside. Admission is $160 per person and tickets are limited. Saturday, Nov. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. Seaside hosts The Taste of THE Beach throughout Seaside. Wine lovers can listen to live music, stroll scenic Seaside and sample cuisine from notable regional chefs as well as a variety of domestic and international wines by Southern Wine and Spirit.

The Taste of THE Beach is a charitable event benefiting the Destin Charity Wine Auction, which was formed to aid local children's charities. Admission is $100 per person. To reserve tickets, call (800) 554-8696 or e-mail info@cottagerentalagency.com.

The event concludes on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m.with a Wine Down Brunch at Café Rendez-Vous featuring creations by Chef Giovanni Filipone and specially paired champagnes provided by Opici and Trans Atlantic. For seating times and admission pricing, call (850) 534-0254.
