Destin's Tourist Development Council is asking for volunteers to help with its annual Coastal Cleanup campaign. Saturday, September 21st, volunteers will meet at locations to be announced soon, and then will fan out to collect debris and trash off the beach.

Last year's effort brought in over 1,000 pounds of trash... and they're hoping to pick up even more this year. So if you're going to be in the area, and would like to help keep our beaches clean, keep an eye here and we'll let you know more as info becomes available.

Keep me posted on this please. We try to do our best to help pick up around the beach and there's still always something new laying around.

Anyway, I'm off to catch me one of those 80 pound grouper so I can win the fishing contest! (or maybe get my picture taken with someone else's catch so I can fool the grandkids! ha!)
