I have a question... what's the BEST place in Destin to get a steak? I like 'em so rare they're still mourning them back on the farm... but they've also got to be tender, prime beef with an outstanding flavor.
Also, and I realize this is kind of picky, but, the bread has got to be really, really good too! Thanks! (as you can see, I'm still playing with the new features!) Ed Tenno |

Destin Chops is one of my favorites, also. It's on the Destin Harbor, so the view is spectacular. There are so many great restaurants in Destin. McGuire's Irish Pub has pretty good steaks, as well.

McGuire's, Ed, you've got to try McGuire's Irish Pub! Their steak is stupendous, it's delectable, it's downright delicious... and, it seems, you get a bit o' the gift o' the gab just from visiting!
True, I've heard nothing but excellent, just excellent things about Destin Chops. Just never been. |

Almost forgot Ed - the bread at McGuire's is a loaf of dark bread with a healthy dose o' honey spread o'er the top. Ah lad, that' bread for ye...
I can't go on enough about the streak though - it was darned near perfect. In fact, McGuire's won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the past five years, and has won the Florida Trend Magazine's Golden Spoon Award for the past eight years, so you don't have to just take my word for it. |

It can as a surprise to me, but the best steak I had in Destin was at Staff's restaurant. It's been around for years, so I thought they might not be trying as hard, but they had an EXCELLENT steak. It was cooked just they way I asked for it- seared and juicy.
McQuire's is pretty good too, Ed. Not real fond of the bread, though. Too much honey. |

right there with you slomo... mcguire's is the absolute, undeniable king o' steaks in destin and pensacola. and they also got a great bar scene. I highly recommend it!

Try the Beachwalk Cafe.
Its in the Inn at Crystal Beach, a little hard to find, but ALL the food is great. Their Petit Filet is to . DIE FOR:D Also try the seared Tuna, a signature dish And, the Berries Denise for dessert The view is beach and emerald green water, can't be beat |

I have to agree with the Beachwalk Cafe. They serve Prime graded steaks from Allen Brothers in Chicago. Their bone-in ribeye was so tender I could almost cut it with a fork. They take the reduced juices from the steak and create a sauce that you have to taste to believe.
