Mark those off if the word budget is being used. Pricey. You can catch some places with specials if you go early enough (usually between 4 and 6). The Lighthouse is a good example.

There are some great eateries around. How much do you want to spend? Miss Destin is correct that Marina and Chops are special occasion places with big ticket rings. Marina is good but not the place I would go for big bucks- BEACH WALK CAFE is though.
NEVER been to Chops but got mixed reviews on it for pricey food. Ocean Club out near Sandestin is always good. Early dinners there I think from 5-530. Bog Walk is good. Camilles is good. Graffiti is good and you can stay after and hit Funky Blues Shack for tunes. On the beach, the food, other than Beach Walk is so-so BUT if you want views and fun then Crab Trap will fill the bill. Ethnic winners of late are Thai Elephant, good prices too and Mulhollows near Publix in Destin where they have great lunch and Thur, Fri, Sat serve dinner with INDIAN FOOD! First ever in Destin. Tell Joe and Kame I sent you if you go there. Ask for butter chicken too! Not on the menu. Now on BUDGET....Commons and Johnny Rockets and then a movie right next door and ice cream at Marble Slab across the street near Barnes and Noble is a great evening on a budget. Marble Slab is worth the extra time to get toand youcan visit Barnes and Noblefor a read and a cappuccino too. Tell Mauri hi when you hit the slab. Get a low fat vanilla/orange sorbet twirl....Your tastebuds and stomach will thank you. |

The Lighthouse is a great place to catch a bargian entree if ya hit the earlybird session. Recommend the chargrilled amberjack. Best grilled fillet I,ve ever had. The Back Porch is a good place as well. Right on the beach and the portions are adequate and very reasonable. Don't forget to try the key lime pie. Two weeks from today and I'll be there myself. Grilled grouper sandwich, hush puppies and key lime pie on the beach, what a way to spend fathers' day.

thanks Keith...this is great stuff....I will keep this in mind. I am trying to keep these ladies entertained for the day and evening....but they are still minors and the club scene would not be the best experience right now.....but we will definitely hit the slab and possibly a movie....THAI sounds great for me...but maybe not so great for them...we may try out Graffiti it sounds interesting....and thne the Blues Shack. appreciate it!!!!
