Been quite a while since we have been here. As I recall it is(was) middle of the road and there is a reason we have not been back. I could be wrong however.
On this stretch of 30A there are PLENTY of great choices for eating from Rosemary Beach all the way to 98. Cafe 30A-top pick Bud and Alleys-top pick Onanos Criollas Red Bar- an experience in Grayton Beach Elmos Basmati's Lake Place Sandors-HIGH end one of a kind. Angelina's-cheap and good Italian Many more. KeithGoesCoastal.com |

We've been going to Seagrove Beach for years, and hit Goatfeathers way back when. It was a cheap, good, hole-in-the wall. We just dropped by last week (~7/30/05). It was (relatively) expensive, crowded (why?), and mediocre.
The raw oysters were tiny and poor. The fried oysters were tiny and poor. The salads were mediocre. The shrimp plate was mediocre. The (boiled) crab was OK, if a bit overdone and oddly spiced, but some odd salad dressing was supplied in place of butter. I know we're blessed in New Orleans, but this was really disappointing. If you want crabs try Bayou Bills. We've only tried the eastern one down by Panama City. Not cheap, but at least you get what you pay for. |

So about like I remembered it.
The reason for crowds is that ALL places are crowded in season. People will wait two hours for average or poor food. It is amazing to me when we have so many great choices out there. Hey, I guess if you are on vacation, anything goes. At least that is what I have seen in driving the roads. ;0) |

I have always enjoyed Goatfeathers. The fish is usually excellent, the service is usually good and the restaurant is neat and clean. It is not overpriced and is a good value for this area.
