Steak, are we talking steak? Let me tell you about steak...back when i was a kid i used to sit on the farm dreaming of the perfect cow, from calf to T-bone...i loved thinking about steak. Still do, but now that I am established in the Shower Curtain industry I can afford the pleasures of going out for a steak now and again.(When i say going out, i don't mean out back and catching old bessie again....she has not been the same since the cleaver incident!)
Well i have spent a eve or two in the waterside town of Destin and I would love to share a story:
It was several years ago, i was picked to be an extra in this little film they were shooting in the town of Seaside...The Truman Show. Now i ain't no history buff, but i learned things about Harry Truman that I never knew, who'd a thunk it? Well there was this tall gawky guy who kept making jokes and he and i were talking about the ludicry of the movie business and the stability of the bathroom stocking and supplies industry. You know there will always be a need for those little electric air deodorizers...but how many times can one person watch a movie...
Actors...well either way he and I were hankering for a slab of meat fit for a king. We hoped in the truck and off to Destin we went. I have read all the posts above and I agree Staff's has a pretty good steak, and Destin Chops, well anyone with Chops in their name better have some fine vittles, but McGuire's wins hand down.
You walk in and are greeted by the mood of the Irish...everyone was there having fun and laughing...i think i saw the guy from the cereal box too! Of course that was after several of their specialty drinks..oh yeah back to the meat...
mmmmmmmm, it was good. I liked it because they had this big animal stuffed on the wall and it reminded my of going to Aunt Flo's house as a child....come to think of it Aunt Flo had a little red haired beard on her chin too....
Steak at McGuire's is good...go there, eat and enjoy. But remember....Univ of Alabama is better than Notre Dame!!!
