Cool Roll Thai at the Elephant

Thai Elephant. Thai food in Destin just east of Destin Commons in a little strip center with Cancun Mexican there as well.

Fairly new. Really homemade style Thai food and the prices will not scare you away. We love Thai and this one does not disappoint.

Not big on atmosphere but who needs it when the food is solid comfort food Thai stye.

Our normal orders are as follows

Tom Kai Gai Soup-coconut milk and lemon grass make this one. Chicken, Ginger, Mushrooms and a bowl for two or more. As I said before, comfort food.

Curry-many types and styles with Chicken, Pork or Shrimp. Order from mild to Thai hot and if you go for the latter, watch out. Medium is a good way to go if you want some kick.

Pad Thai- a HUGE portion that can be split by two at least. The noodles and the flavors make this a good leftover for the next day too.

Service like you are at home too. Relaxed and accommodating. Very casual. Come straight from the beach if you like. Lunch and dinner fare.

Menu is pretty extensive so you can venture down many Thai roads BUT we know what we like and do not stray far.

Our only hope is they add the fresh spring rolls to the menu. Only thing missing.

After three or four visits, we give this one a solid 9 out of 10 in it's class.

Less expensive than Royal Orchid east of it.

Thumbs up Best Thai in the Area

My husband and I are HUGE Thai fans - we have tried just about every restaurant in the area, and we have landed on Thai Elephant. The service is great (they remember us every time, including our orders) and the orders are very generous (we always end up taking some home) They make some of the best Green Papaya salad we have ever eaten. Prices are totally in line - we visit almost weekly. Love it!
