Park and I hopped in the car today for lunch at Elmos. Believe it or not, first trip to this hole in the wall seafood shack just off 98 on 30A west.
No credit cards so bring cash or use the ATM. I used the ATM today and got an extra $20 but promptly returned it to the manager/owner. $2 fee for use. The menu is pretty much as expected with some good lunch specials. Fried seafood baskets, sandwiches and salads. Decent prices and the food reminded me of Schooners in PCB a little bit. A selection of beers and some wine to go with the sodas and such. Most exotic beer is Red Stripe or Corona. Sit in or out. We chose in. Very hot today. A smallish crowd of about five tables in house. I got the scallops w/ fries, hush puppies and cole slaw and orderd a side salad as well. Picky Park ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich with same trimmings less puppies. Also had shrimp, oysters and fresh fish and chips as well as chef special-today was ribs. My salad was good and the dressing just right. Food was nice and hot, crsip, fries AND puppies ALSO very good and tartar sauce EXCELLENT in my opinion. Parks sandwich was great smoked pork piled high on a Po-Boy French bread roll. I tried a bite and it was tasty. He liked it. Did not get dessert although they do have it. For dinners they have larger seafood plates and on Weekends all you can eat specials for crab legs and other seafood. Service was prompt and friendly too. After lunch Park and I drove down to a little gift place near Lake Place restaurant on 30A and got some Starfish for the windows in the new digs. They have a bit of everything and today it was 20% off storewide. The meal...a solid 8.5 for the type place. Try them. We got away for 25 including tip. Tell 'em I sent you. www.keithgoescoastal.com |
