I can help you out with a few txangel... my favorite of the new restaurants is Ralph & Kacoos. I'm one of those people who visited New Orleans a couple of times and became a Cajun and Ralph & kacoos does Cajun excellently!
Mo Joe's is good, and has a casual atmosphere. Rutherford's is more of a fine dining place, and the Destin Commissary has BBQ. Wish I knew of more, but that should give you something to think about! I guess this is goodbye for a while, the wife and I are heading north to God's Country for a month or so. I'll try to check in, but probably won't be back on the board for a while! |

Great picks, Ed... Ralph & Kacoos is my pick of the new restaurants, but I've heard good things about Mo Joe's, too.
A couple of other new spots are Calypso Cafe and The Grille at Silver Shells. Haven't eaten at either yet, but have heard from friends in Destin that they're both pretty good. Hope these help txangel! We're going to miss not having you around for a while Ed! Hurry back... you're going to want to return to the warmth and color of the Gulf Coast after a month of fighting the winds, snow and sleet of the Nebraska plains! |

I think so, beachbum5024... but I thought they'd rebuilt Capt. Dave's after Hurricane Opal. I'm checking with our resident Destin expert, and I'll ask her to let you know for sure.
They do Cajun right, don't they? Tibs is great Cajun cooking, too, if you're out nearer the east end of Destin - Sandestin. Hmmm, Cajun... *in best Homer Simpson voice* |

Well bad news Cajun lovers, Ralph & Kacoo's has closed. I've got to find a new favorite Cajun place in Destin (oh no! not restaurant hopping!)... but that was the old Capt. Dave's location, and now it's for sale. Doubt it'll last on the market long, the spot by the harbor is a great location.
