If your thinking about coming here in janurary or anytime soon try to stay at the condos on oakloosia island. The economy here is lacking because people are afraid to come because of the hurricanes, and they think the area isn't open for business even though it is. Besides prices are doubled in destin because of the tourist trap status.

Also the gas stations on the island are the cheapest in the county.

Check out Abbot or Beacon Resourts or any other condos in the Island. Stay away from the hotels there since they look like crap from when I drove by.

Anyhow you will be helping our economy, which isn't doing so great.

We enjoy staying at the Village at Baytowne. Everything you could ever want to do is within walking distance. If not -- just hop a tram!

Don't get what they call a "hotel room". It's too small. Get a 1-bedroom. You'll really like it! Skip the extra money for the view. Get down there and become part of the view!

If you're looking for something different, try Josephine's bed & breakfast in Saeside. It's another place that has everything within walking distance.

The condo's at SanDestin are great, too. Beachside I and II are conveniently located. The pools are great. Finz is a terrific restaraunt and the Finz Loft is even better!

The Village is overpriced. Look for staying in FWB and driving to Destin. Theres Oakloosia Island, too. They have Beacon Resorts, Abbot, etc. (do a google search for them)

Stay away from the Classic Inn/Economy Motel in FWB because of the problems in that area. (Why we didn't buy a house near there)

Remember our economy is struggling because of the rumours that are floating around stating that FWB/Destin is out of business due to the storms. That's a bunch of crap. This is the best time of the year to come on down before the prices go up in the summer (and the threat of hurricanes)

In Sandestin there seem to be a decent amount of folks in for the winter and overall in Destin, our rental business is good.

It is a great time to cone on down and my mom will be here next week to do just that.

She will be staying in the Gulfview #205 I have spoken about before. It goes for $400 during this season. And even in the high season is only $1015.

Private beach, walking distance to two restaurants, two pools and hot tub.

Encalve just down the stree has some 2/2 untis that are nice and right across the street from the Gulf.
