Hi,

I've never been in Destin so I was wondering if ya'll kind people could help me here.

Next Monday I would like to take my dad (coming from Europe) for a short - 3 days trip to Destin. I'd prefer to stay on the beach but a beachside (walking distance to the beach to save some money) would be fine too.

What would be the best place to stay in Destin? I'd love for my dad to see the most beautiful beaches and have some fun at night in the bar/s .

Thank you in advance for all your advices.

Welcome lj2809!

Anywhere in Sandestin Resort is a great place to stay. Try the Hilton Sandestin for Beachside and ultimate convenience or the Bayside Inn to be next to the Village of Baytowne Wharf (lots of unique bars, restaurants and shops). They have many more choices for accommodations in several price ranges. You may have to pay a little more, but it's worth it to have so much stuff to do where you're staying.

Also, if you haven't considered it yet, take a look at The Beaches of South Walton (the area between Panama City Beach and Destin). It's much more laid back than Destin and each community has its own unique character (plus lots of cool hangouts, bars and dining). The beaches in that area are amazing and you won't have to deal with the large crowds in Destin... unless that's what you're looking for/

Here's a great South Walton community if you want to investigate. And if you need accommodations in Soth Walton, try Dolphin Developers.

Good luck - let us know what you decide!
