Hi. I am an avid photographer / videographer and would like to know, are cameras and/or camcorders permitted at fantasy fest? Is it permitted to take pictures and/or video at Fantasy fest?

Cameras are not only permitted, but they are encouraged! If you don't have one...you will be one of the very few that isn't carrying one. I always take my camcorder and my camera. Most of the women love to stop and pose for pictures. One year, a guy said to me, "oh he has a camcorder...honey...show him what we do for camcorders"....and she flat out flashed me.

I'd say if you're gonna take both...have one of your friends hold the camcorder...while you take the pictures. And take spare batteries!

Fantasy Fest is full of exhibitionists... so definitely take the cameras! Just use common courtesy when filming. And if you plan to publish the photos or footage somewhere, you may want to update your knowledge of copyright and fair use laws. Good luck and have fun! Share your photos and video with us!

Cameras--video and still--are everywhere in Key West during Fantasy Fest. Just do an internet search and you will find 1000's of photos (including mine and of me). :-)

Just be courteous, offer beads when appropriate and understand that there will be crowds around popular people and groups. Being nice has its rewards. :-)

For anyone taking photos or videos... come back and post them in the forums and/or our video vault and photo gallery... and we'll send you something from our prize vault. Shirts, hats and a few other things that'll make it worth your while!
