My wife and i decided to get out of the cold this winter and move to key west for a couple years so i need some help please
were both 31 so we still like to party and have fun. She is a lawyer and will probably look for a law job down there, and i own my own ebay company so i will need find a commercial storefront location. So the big questions are: 1. what part of key west do we want to live? we definitaly want to be where the action is. any good companies that rent houses or condos until we decide we want to buy. 2. whats the best place for her to look for a job? 3. what part of town would i want to have my business located(we will cater to mostly residents not tourists) thanks in advance for any help. lee and keri |

You're obviously a GENIUS!
Ha! Who WOULDN'T want to leave the frigid northland for Paradise?
Here is a little input. I'm sure our other local friends will be happy to pitch in. 1. Old Town is the be 'walk around' community... you can walk to most of the best restaurants, clubs, etc. - It can be a little loud, but it's FUN. The Meadows is right on the edge of Old Town and is also within walking distance of the fun... just a little longer walk. The Casa Marina area is also great, but you'll probably want a bicycle to get to Old Town spots. Of course, the whole island is only 1x4, so you can bike anywhere. Yes, there are GREAT companies that can help you find a condo or apartment while you look. By the way, this is a VERY good time to be looking... August and September and the hottest (and slowest) months of the year, and real estate deals are best then! I have a very good friend who is a realtor who could help you... I think he has a couple properties to rent, and he's fun. Bruce Moore at Broadway Realty: bruce@brucemoorerealty.com. Website: www.broadwaykeys.com. Another good friend is Shawna at Resort Realty and Appraisals. She's cool... and very helpful! nbw@resort-keywest.com 2. There are some great lawyers in Key West and several of them are good friends of mine, too. Real estate law is BIG down there. Talk to Susan Cardenas at Stones and Cardenas 305-294-0252. Or, Jerry Coleman, 305-292-3095. 3. I'd look for something on the east end of Simonton or on White Street.. if you're aiming at Locals. Some great space with potential near the intersection of White and Simonton. Hope that helps! And, welcome! We always love brain power in Key West! |

Friendly and Funny!
Cool! And, yes, the people here are friendly and a bit nuts. It's a warm and lovely and open and generous place to make your home. By the way, I talked to Shawna, and they are looking forward to your visit... I've given my friends a 'heads up,' and I know of a couple great houses they want to show you - one about a block and a half from my house, so let me know if you end up living on Albury Street ... it's my favorite of the rentals available. And, the couple who own it are some of our very best friends.
Good luck~ |
