Stay away from Transfloridian!
Whatever you do, stay away from using the bus service Transfloridian to get you to Key West. They are rude and their buses all smell bad. Plus, their bathrooms didn't work and the seats were very uncomfortable. Lastly, their buses constantly breakdown and then they expect you to help the driver fix the problem. In my case, they had me change a flat tire on the bus and I'm 76 years old!
In addition to being a terrible trip, they lie to you about the cost and charge you a bunch of extra fees after you get on board. If you refuse to pay, they will leave you on the side of the highway without your bags! Horrible company and a terrible rip off. |

You're Nuts
I just read your post. I've traveled on them plenty of times and they don't even have bathrooms on the Key West runs because they make a few rest stops.
Secondly - there is no fees that are "hidden" as you say. I paid $88.50 for my round trip fare and I paid my tax (somewhere around 3 or 4 bucks) and my $2 fuel tax each way. They are the most friendly transportation company I've ever dealt with. In fact, my family has been riding them since they were called the Purple Bus. Are you sure you weren't on Keys Shuttle? Because they're the ones that are nasty and rude. |

I have been traveling with Transfloridian for over 8 months now, on a weekly basis back and forth from MIA to Key West every Monday and Friday for work, and let me tell you---- after the awfull experiences I have had trying to to get picked up on time to make my flights using services like The Keys Shuttle, I am so glad I saw them riding by my hotel in that luxury shuttle on Duval.
I stopped the driver and explained that The Keys Shuttle was late and how I was going to miss my flight yet again. He made a quick phone call to charge my card 59 bucks, which saved me about 30.00 and then took me to MIA. I was very impressed with the whole experience, especially the leather seats which I fell asleep in for about an hour, I obviously missed much of the movie that was playing, SO HE SET IT UP AGAIN JUST FOR ME!!!!!! That is service!!!!! This was August 21, 2005, and I have never had a problem. |

My experience w/ Transfloridian was just like SexySenior's...sans the tire blow out. I had to pay an "extra" fee also...AFTER paying in full online.
What choice did I have? I already paid, and was ready to leave, so I had to cough up the additional $$. If you are a fan of bait and switch...then Transfloridian is the company for you. I bet the two guys bragging about Transfloridian work for the company. Their posts read like Transfloridian ads. I don't trust them at all. |

Transfloridian - Terrible
Our experience with Transfloridian was TERRIBLE! We had reservations more than a month in advane (paid in full) and confirmed the day before our trip.
We were left stranded at the Port of Miami for more than 2 hours and could not get anyone on the phone. We had to pay another person to get us to the airport. There were 2 other families waiting to be picked up at the port who also had paid reservations with Transfloridian and could not get in touch with them. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! |

Contact State of Florida
Well apparently Transfloridian is no more, but TF Orlando also known as Merimont TF took its place. How many company names are we using? They are the same exact owners you can check with the Florida dept of state. They canceled all transfloridian customers bookings then had the nerve to offer a discount to rebook and pay again with TF Orlando. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! I notified the State of Florida they told me to let everyone know and to file a complaint with them. You can here File a Complaint - Division of Consumer Services, DOACS. It's the dept of consumer affairs. The owner Wendy puts on a nice sweet act with her little accent, but don't buy into it.!

Just wanted to give a little update. Transfloridian aka TF Orlando aka Merimont TF also goes by a website called EZOrlando as well. There they still have transfloridian stuff up and are selling travel packages which by the way they are not licensed to do.
Found this as well. Florida Sunshine Shuttle is saying on their website Florida Sunshine Shuttle - Florida Transportation Orlando Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Keys Shuttle that they are not affliated with TF Orlando in any way. How sad is that that other companies are now putting that on their site.
