Sorry, had to register and correct this NOT TRUE. Geiger, first off, is a concrete building. It had a fire at 2am a few days ago in the storeroom and there is smoke damage to the kitchen. They will cook in the tiki hut. The bar is mostly outside and Bobby (owner) will have it up and running in a few days. It's not burned down and NOT lost.

Well, that is good news.

I'm still trying to plan my first trip to KW. I want it to be a good one... at least a couple weeks so we have plenty of time to explore.

Sorry if I gave bad info. I went there last weekend and it was closed due to the fire.

SWN, Hound, Travis, (Welcome to the forums by the way) & anyone else ~~ There is a plan in action from several other boards on the Internet that there is gonna be a huge party next May around the 3rd week ~~ Think Flattop started the post on another forum askin members what bout gettin together next May ~~ Well, now there are a couple of forums askin this same question ~~ Looks like its gonna be a blast ~~ So far there are bout 50+ people comin in on that date plus their wifes or hubbies or whoever ~~ Its just right before Memorial Day ~~ You talk bout a party !!!!!!!!!!!

Try to see if you can attend & meet all of the locals there plus another 50 or so people comin from out of town ~~ Trip Advisor & Its Only Key West forums are ahead of the game ~~ Any other info please let me know ~~

Its gonna be called the "Private Board Meetin" where are good friends ~~ the locals of Key West ~~ have their weekly meetin every Friday at 6pm at the top of Turtle Kraals ~~ I think they are gonna rent the SWB for that night tho ~~ Its a blast & you will meet the nicest & friendliest people of Key West & mean a lot of them ~~ Q is doin most of the cookin (BBQ) for all who attend & he's does know how to cook ~~

SWN ~~ You need to get together with Travis & I might know who that person is ~~ to get this webcast goin ~~ I like to help ifin that's possible ~~ The webcast is doable since you have the means to brin it all together ~~ There are a lot of members from here on this forum that live in Key West & there a lot of members on the other three boards who live there in Key West as well ~~ Plus all the people who are comin-in from out-of-town that week ~~ It'll be a huge party & great entertainment with some good eatin's ~~ Lets get the ball rollin on this if at all possible ~~ Thanks again SWN for your help ~~

Great to see some of you guys on Tripsmarter... It's Only Key West is a great community... I lurk from time to time. I'll register and post this week...

The party sounds great. I hope we can make it, but we've got to reschedule some other plans if possible. I've got several months to work it out, so I;ve got my fingers crossed.

We can do a webcast either way... I can either help someone else do it or do it myself if the wife and I get to go.

I think this would be a great way to visit KW for the first time.. I;ve always heard it's the people that make KW so cool anyway.

Hey everyone. Eddie and Iva from Southeast Missouri here. We are planning an extended trip to Key West in a month or so. Just found this thread today. Looks interesting, We are trying to learn a little about the area before we go. Hopefully we can meet some your locals while we are there.
