Being a newbie to this board, I think I posted this question in the wrong section. sorry!
We will be going out to Dry Tortugas in just 23 short days! We would appreciate any local knowledge as far as camping, snorkeling, fishing out there. We will be taking the Yankee fleet out there along with a double kayak and our snorkeling gear. thanks for your help! 20 days til paradise! pat in NH |

Here is a site for them and it has a good amount of info. The camping seems to be something people either love or hate. Snorkeling is beautiful there and I don't think they allow fishing. Have fun.

we camped there once and it was different but in a good way. my boyfriend fished the whole time almost, so I'm sure you can fish. i think he had to get a license though. i heartily recommend camping in the tortugas though. very cool.

Oh yea, I dont know what I was thinking. You can fish out there. The license Txangel is talking about is just a salt water one. LOL. You do need a license but usually if you are on a charter it should be included with the price, If not they will point you in the right direction for one.

We plan on fishing out of Islamorada on the 25th and 26th. Of course, need to get back in time for the Parade on Saturday night!
Going to also do some fishing out at Dry Tortugas on the 22nd and 23rd. see you out there! I will be the one standing by the large catch! |
