Robert Frost Poetry Festival
April 9-13, 2008
Tennesee Williams and Ernest Hemingway aren't the only BIG names in literature who had a home in Key West... Robert Frost also had a winter cottage on the island and admirers of the Pulitzer Prize winning poet will gather in Key West to celebrate the man and discuss his poetry during the 14th Annual Robert Frost Poetry Festival.

Conch Republic Independence Celebration
April 18 - 27, 2008
Commemorating the birth of a nation is generally a pretty staid affair, but not when the nation is the Conch Republic. Instead, the republic celebrates the anniversary of its founding with a "drag" race featuring female impersonators, an open-air bed race billed as "the most fun you can have in bed with your clothes on" and a packed roster of other events showcasing the Florida Keys' independent and eccentric spirit.

Taste of Key West

Key West's culinary offerings are gaining a reputation as being among the country's finest with very talented chefs and cuisine infused with a sense of fun and individuality that relflects the spirit of the island itself.
The generous hearts of Key West meet the culinary arts on April 21, 2008 during the Annual Taste of Key West, benefitting the Key West AIDS Help Inc. The gourmet galas will feature delicacies from some 65 local restaurants as well as wines from more than 75 wineries. The event is held at the Truman Annex.
