Hey all... We're traveling down to Key West for New Years Eve this year with our Travel Trailer from Virginia. We made this trip last year, but because of a family gathering in Orlando we had to leave before New Years Eve... We're staying at Boyd's Campground on Stock Island.

My questions: Is there a good way to get to Duval street from the campground on New Years Eve, we obviously don't want to drive there!

What's the best time to arrive?

What time does the party wind down? If I remember right, the bars don't close till like 4am on a regular basis, is this true on New Years Eve as well?

I know this is a matter of opinion, but which of the three "conch, heel or pirate" drops is the best to get drunk at?

Any other help or advise on where to be and what to do on this day would much be appreciated... Thanks and can't want to get there and drink a beer with you all...

Here are some suggestions but it sounds as you already know the answers!!

I noticed you are staying at Boyd's Campground. While the campground is nice, the surrounding Stock Island area isn't. Trust me....I was a deputy for many years. That area is riddled with crack houses and homeless drunks.

My advice is to take a taxi. Have the taxi pick you up right there at the Boyd's office.

It is more than likely that nothing would happen to you outside of the gate. But why take the chance?
