The sport lobster season opens July 24 and ends the next day... but during those two days divers can go after the big bugs and bring back a great meal. There are restrictions on where to harvest the lobsters from, and a daily limit.

The "bug hunters" are out in force in the Keys now!! The spiny lobster sport season is on for another day and there's still people coming down, it looks like. I'm not able to get in the water cause I hurt my leg or else I'd be out there with them. I guess I will just have to settle with eating some of the lobster my friends are getting! If you are anywhere near the keys you ought to down here and give it a try.

It was a great day for most bug hunters! The rain and storms did not seem to bother anyone too much. I did not go out either but I have great friends who brought me a few lobsters and Boy-O-Boy were they good!

The mini season just ended again this year, and it sounds like another great one! My friend that lives down in the Keys is bringing about 50 of Florida's finest lobster tails back up to the Emerald Coast for some fine eating. If there anything like the ones from last year then we're in for a feast! I love lobster season in the Keys!
