Key West gets a new artificial reef!
A U.S. Air Force ship has been sunk in the Keys, providing a new artificial reef for divers and anglers.
The 17,000-ton, 523-foot-long Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg was sunk in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Officials expect the new reef to generate up to $8 million in revenue from divers and related business. Here's a link to the full Yahoo! story: WWII-era ship becomes sunken reef off Key West - Yahoo!
