Cool Restaurants!

Your very welcome Frank! I hope you like them. My wife & I have visited a lot of restaurants from the past years & we think some are great while others are good. Regardless, let the message board know how your family like them or any others that were not mention when you return. By the way, you might try this cafe, Calsdesi Catch at 530 Simonton St. by the wellness center. It open earlier this year got some great reviews, but they stop. They are very small but worth the visit. Make reservations for lunch or dinner & let me know how y'all like them. Fantasy Fest will be big again this year, so make sure you have some reservations at some of these places. Have fun, enjoy & by all means have one for me! :D

Reservations! You would think we would have thought of that. We did of course for the hotel but didn't think of it for dinner. Well, we leave in two days and we just about can't stand it! Thank you again, and thanks to everyone on the board who has given us advice!

Cool Restaurant Update

Love your list, Ron. A couple corrections/updates... Camille's is great, but it's not on Duval anymore! Believe it or not, after YEARS and YEARS on Duval, Denise has moved her restaurant to a beautiful new space on Simonton. It's bigger and newer, but the food is still classic Camille's. Delicious.

Also... Louie's Backyard is not just for lunch. It's a BEAUTIFUL place for dinner... we love it!

Had dinner at Antonia's last night... that place just gets better and better every year. Try the wild mushroom soup with truffle oil.... incredible.

Talking Thanks!

Thanks for the update on Camille's Toni! My wife & I go to Louie's Backyard for a drink at the Afterdeck bar for sunsets only. They have been pretty rude lately in thier seating arrangements & you have to almost say something to them because of it. The host acts like he doesn't want to be their & during the lunch time, the hostess sits you at the table right beside the path where all the people are walking in their bathing suits & a guy & his dog playing in the ocean with the seagrass everywhere! That's pretty upsetting to me. Plus, the prices for some of their dinners are getting out of hand, even tho we like to visit them for lunch. Something is going wrong here & I haven't pinppinted yet. This is not the 1st time that we have encountered this as we also have learn of this happening from others.

I'm glad you had a wonderful dinner at Antonia's, they are fabulous aren't they. The mushrooom soup sounds great & I will try it & thanks for letting us know. All for now & thanks for the update on some of the wonderful places we have here to enjoy your dinning pleasures.

Louie's Backyard

EEK! Sorry you have had a bad experience there. We've never had anything like that happen to us. As a matter of fact, I had dinner there two days ago, and it was perfect... the menu has been revised, and there were plenty of affordable, delicious new items... the hostess was sweet - even moved us to a better table voluntarily.

You should let them know of the problems you've had. They would probably be horrified, and I'm certain they would do anything they could to make it up to you... especially since you go there so often for drinks and lunch.

Of course, it's a matter of preference on seating. Personally, I like the tables with a view of "Dog Beach"... all the locals bring their dogs to swim in the late afternoon, and we get a kick out of all the frolicking and fun. My husband likes the bikinis!

I'm in Key West today, and Hurricane Michelle has caused a tourist evactuation. We're going to hang in there for another day to see if the locals will be evacuated... Louie's is still open. Powerboat Races are cancelled, though.

See ya!
