I have a question -

Visiting KW for first time in the next couple weeks - am looking for relatively inexpensive lodging in/near old town and Duval St.

The Atlantic Shores looks interesting though I am wondering if it there is a mixed clientele or do they cater mostly to the gay community. I'm a single, stright male and have no aversions to anyone, though I don't want to be out of place where I stay.

Any thoughts and alternate suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I've never been to atlantic shores but I want to go. Its a clothnig optional place you know! Some friends have been and said theres a mixed crowd. If you go let me know how it is.

There are quite a few places that meet your needs and I think you'll be surprised at how much you can get for you dollar if you take some time and compare the different places. Key West has a lot of unique, small inns and B&Bs that are surprisingly inexpensive, especially this time of year.

This is always a hard question to answer. Tolerance varys so much from one person to the next so what one might find O.K. and comfortable with, the next person will be very uncomfortable with. Atlantic Shores is a place for anyone as long as you have an open mind. It caters to all but does get a larger percentage of gay clientel than most hotels/motels down here. The only area where it might be "in your face" or you might even get hit on is at the pool area. The pool area is a lot of fun and very much a social gathering place here. It is open to the public so all walks of life are there and it is a clothing optional area so you will see all kinds of things pierced! LOL!
I don't think you will look out of place but please understand you wouldn't be the first guy (straight or otherwise, or the last guy to stay there by himself but sometimes some of them have other agendas (if ya kow what I mean ;) )
