Little Known Facts (or, cleverly concealed fibs)
Margit Bisztray (our resident food critic) is the long lost niece of brothers: Peter Graves (Mission Impossible) and James Arness (Marshall Dillon)
Yes? No? |

I'm going to say no! She is not the niece to either one. Just a guess!

Well, since you posted it, I'm going to guess there's some relationship there??? Or are you just pullin' our leg?

I knew they were brothers, both from Minnesota? And a quick google search shows Margit graduated from St. Olaf in Mn, so I'm going to go with FACT.

I did read that but didn't pay too much attention to the Minnesota thing though even though I did look up bios on Peter Graves and James Arness. Probably fact then!

Check out the lips... and the eyes here... *hey - I tried to put this photo in the body of this post - it's not working... anybody? How do I do that? |

I don't think the image insertion
will work with a word document. Probably has to be a jpg, gif or bmp.

BTW - I'm starting to think there's no relationship... I vote this is a cleverly disguised fib!

I put in my initial post that I don't think there is any relation. I am sticking with that. To me, it is just a coincidence they are all from MN.

I'm thinking....:scratchchin: yes, Margit is related. Why else would Toni compare Margit's beauty to James Arness???

I saw more of a similarity between Peter Graves and her if they are even related!

OK.... follow this and see if it changes your mind:
Peter Aurness was born in Norway Apr 1862. Peter died Dec 1928 in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, at 66 years of age. He married Ida Cirkler in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, 8 Oct 1893. Peter A. Aurness and Ida Cirkler had the following child: Rolf Cirkler Aurness, born in Minnesota 22 Jul 1894. He married Ruth Duesler, daughter of Hess Graves Duesler and Mabel Schroutenbach. Ruth died 14 Sep 1986 in Santa Barbara County, California, at 92 years of age. Rolf died Jul 1982 in Simi Valley, Ventura, California, at 87 years of age. Rolf Cirkler Aurness and Ruth Duesler had the following children: James Arness - born in Hennepin, Minnesota 26 May 1923. (Gunsmoke is born) Peter Graves was born in Hennepin, Minnesota 18 Mar 1926. (Mission Impossible is born) NOW - Margit's father, George Bistray was born in Budapest, Hungary and is the first Chair in Hungarian Studies, teaches in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature at the University of Toronto. He met Margit's mother in Oslo, Norway, before moving to Minnesota to finish his PhD at University of Minnesota. There's a picture of him here:http://www.utoronto.ca/slavic/faculty/bisztray.html Well... anyway, I have no idea if Margit is related to Marshall Dillon, and she's gallavanting around the French countryside somewhere, I'm sure - when she gets back - we'll ask her. But, at least we know her DAD looks like James Arness, too! Ha! AND, he can write! So, Margit comes by it naturally. (Do you think she's gonna kill me when she gets back from vacation and finds out I think she looks like James Arness?)

I think Margit will be absolutely flattered to come home and find that she's been compared to a man of such, ummm..fame
...Or she may be feeling a little more like this: !!!I think we need a new thread called Toni's Odd Observations and Comtemplations!
