Is it just me or are cops just glorified taxs collecters. think about it i mean they only stop people who are speeding, i dont wear my seat bellt and i remember one time i pulled up right next to the cop and they looked at me and just kept driving. then one time i didnt get my car inspected to where it was 5 months out of inspection and a cop saw it, i know he did and he did nothing. well they like giving tickets. Anyone have any questions?

I don't agree with you there... I appreciate the job they do, I know I wouldn't want to live in a society w/o them. They give their lives every year for public service.

Yes! However, they recieve a lot of pressure from "above" to collect tax, err I mean write tickets. With out the ticket money they wouldn't have enough funds to operate, so taxes would go up. Of course, no one wants to pay more in taxes, so ticket money is the only other way to go. Unles of course, they cut back on patrol units to conserve money. Less tickets written, but less in expenses to. THey don't do this however, because then they claim "accidents" will increase because lack of patrols.( Even though no study has proven this.) Especially since the wreckless speeders are going to speed no matter what. It's the recreational speeders that usally get tickets. These are the people that are doing a safe speed, just not below the limit.

In my town, we have two cops. I have yet to see either of them patrol for speeders. However, our taxes aren't sky high from lack of ticket money. No patroling = less gas, plus less vehicle maintnence.

The system in most places, is, well, gone astray. The donut eaters should be in the neighboorhoods or business districts, NOT sitting in speed traps. If speeding is dangerous anywhere, it is around PEOPLE! Are there people out on the interstate, or highways? It pisses me off that I can get a ticket for doing a SAFE speed out on the highway, while stupid *** kids go speeding recklessly through neighboorhoods!

Anyway, let me stop and climb off this soap box before it starts to sud.

The cops lie in wait out here practically in front of my work. Two motorcycle cops on the sidewalk up in front of the high school. They get people left and right. Most people know they are there at some point every day or so and go slow but there are always a few that speed. They always do alot of sobriety/seatbelt checkpoints throughout the city and you never know when or where they are set up. At the same time, they are also looking for gang members and drug dealers during these checkpoints, which I am glad of but boy do they rack up. They love to ticket people around here for no seatbelts. They are usually set up here always around the end of the month we think because their ticket quota is down. Vultures most of the time as far as I am concerned. And as far as raising property taxes are concerned, well that is a given around here. That usually occurs just about every year or so. We end up paying extra in alot of places here because of a total mismanagement of the city and its funds by the mayor and his cronies here.

i know, there are little punk *** kids that think there so **** tough. i remember one *** hole who was speeding down a naborhood and almost hit some guy walking down the road so i followed him. and it was at about 1:00 am and he pulled to the side of the road, got out of his car and said "hey dumb **** you want something?" and of corse he didnt know who he was messing with so i got out of my car and said " yeah? dumb **** huh? ill **** you up so bad your mamma wont be able to notice you at the **** morg." then he came at me to punch we and i grabed him by his arm swung hima round and put him in a choke hold and said "hey pal just get back in you little car and leave" and he said "oh go **** yourself". so i got pissed off so i said fine. i threw him on the ground and he got up and we fought of course i have been trained to kick *** in hand to hand combat. so i did, and there was another guy in the car and i said "your little *** lover want some". then he got in the car and drove off. dumb ***, twenty year olds just dont have any respect. but i taught him how to have some. and if you are able i recomend you follow little dumb ***** that think there tough and are speeding trough naborhoods. but only if your able to kick there ***.
