True story or local myth?
This MONSTER was found between Mobile and Daphne, on the causeway crossing Mobile Bay. Game Wardens were forced to shoot the alligator. Anita and Charlie of the "Oyster House Restaurant" could hear the 'gator' bellowing in the night, and their patrons had been telling them that they had seen a 'mammoth-sized' alligator' in the waterway that runs behind their restaurant - But they had just dismissed the stories as exaggerations. "I didn't believe it," Charlie said on Friday, May 19th, then they realized the stories were, if anything, well understated. So, Alabama Fish and Wildlife Game Wardens had to shoot the beast. In the picture below Joe Goff, 6' 5" tall, a Game Warden, walks past a 23-foot 1-inch long alligator that he shot and killed on the old causeway.

Foreground/background optical illusion...
Found it on Snopes.com... The picture is real, and there is a real story here, but it's not this one..... http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/wcgator.asp |

This was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Lake George!
(For those of you who are not local, this Lake George is in Ocala FL ). That has to be a HUGE Gator ...........to have a whole deer in its mouth! Are you ready to go water skiing on Lake George? in Florida ? |

Yeah, although the photos are impressive
, the location didn't match up to the call letters.Any station East of the Mississippi starts with a 'W'... stations West of the Miss start with a 'K'. That one was easy to spot. P.S. Using snopes is cheating!!! |

I was googling around trying to find the one with the picture of the gator that's cut open with a whole person inside, and I landed on the snopes deergator page purely by chance.(HOWEVER...urban legends propogated as truth can be frustrating to some of us--- how many times have you received the Nostradamus chain letters? A few more people should use Snopes for my tastes... but then some say I'm a )
