A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a cousin from my fathers side of the family; until recently we believed that side of the family to be all passed on. He evidently has a cousin that is 77 that found him on the internet, and we've been emailing back and forth several times a day since about ancestry and history I never knew. She's a spitfire, and can use her pc better than my own father! Anyway, she's the historian for her side of the clan, and we instantly hit it off-- there has only ever been one other female down this line of the family, and that's my wonderful. brilliant but much younger cousin, so it was fascinating to find out how much stuff evidently runs down the genetic line.

She and her husband were making a 2 week trip this week across the country, and they added a couple of days to drive hundreds of miles out of their way just to meet me for lunch and bring pictures from over 60 years ago, family memorabilia I didn't know existed etc. It was incredible.
I've just been so happy this week with the discovery and meeting, I have to share with everyone!!

Thanks Will. I feel so blessed; my grandparents estate recently sold, and my father sold everything inside the house with it. Thousands of pics, letters, precious memories, it was all bulldozed by the time we were told. I have been sickened to death since, I can't comprehend how someone can do that, but to have found Charlotte, it's like a second chance.
