Separation Saturday

Tough games for FSU and Miami. I didn't get to see the Miami game, but the FSU game was a heartbreaker. FSU fought back after a lousy frist half and started to look good in the second half. The game was tied at 20 and heading to overtime until Tommy outcoached Bobby and went 85 yards in 2 plays taking it to the 1 yard line. Clemson won the goaline battle with 8 seconds left. That was the first time in a while I've seen anyone get the best of Mickey Andrews' defense like that. Oh well, I'm still going to a November game... hopefully they'll get it together so we can see them win.

Miami lost big to Louisville 31-7. (?!)

Auburn hung on to a defensive 7-3 win over LSU.

Michigan routed Notre Dame 47-21. (?!)

And the Gators beat Tennessee 21-20 in another great game (expected)

Auburn and LSU both lacked for offense today. Wasn't an impressive game at all. Alabama hasn't been looking that great either. Florida barely won! Tennessee had the opportunity to win the game with plenty of time left. Bad intentional grounding play cost the game. They would have won the game with either a field goal or touchdown had it not been for that. They were underdogs by 4 points, ended up losing by just 1 point! I hope the expected you have in parenthesis is referring to the great game, not the win by Florida. Florida wasn't impressive to me. Made several mistakes themselves, two intentional grounding calls, two missed field goals, a very cheap shot by #44 to a downed Tennessee player, one or two interceptions. You just don't go up and start kneeing a guy in the ribs when the play is dead! Florida has always been known for their cheap shots during games. That has been going on since Spurrier days and probably before!

Yeah, the UF/UT game is a pretty rough game - always is. But I do like UF better than UT. Always have Gotta support all the Florida teams, except when they're playing FSU.

I don't understand this lady at my work. She was born and raised here in Memphis. Won't cheer for the home college, the University of Memphis, won't cheer for Tennessee. Instead she chooses to cheer for Ole Miss that is at Oxford, MS. Well, the same with me, I like UT over Florida of course, have been watching and listening to their basketball and football games since I was 10 years old. I cheer for Vanderbilt that is at Nashville also. Do not cheer for University of Memphis though, they are a bunch of big trash talkers. Especially their basketball coach! He made some comments about Tennessee I didn't appreciate! I have no use for them. We play them in football the end of September here. I was going to buy tickets and go, but didn't want to give any money to them as I would had to have bought them through them instead of UT! No way! I'll watch on tv. They were $50 apiece anyway. I went two years ago when they played each other here and it was that much!

WHAT! This has been named one of the best SEC matchups in history! That's down and dirty real SEC ball right there. I have to disagree with you on this one. ALL the reporters said it...and as someone there, you don't see heart like that everyday.

Yeah, it is always a good matchup. But someone stated on the pregame that the matchup between Florida and UT is no longer considered the rivalry game it was. Other teams and games in the SEC has overshadowed that rivalry. With Auburn being so strong in the conference I believe they are the team to beat now. Used to be Bama back in the Bear Bryant days.
