Thanks for adding the link, i'm not too swift at this stuff yet, it's a little different than other boards i've uploaded pics on. The seaplane ride was a little scary for me. I'm a land-dweller!!! My son, however, had begged for 2 yrs. to do it, and this was the year. He loved it, and that is all that matters. Mom was a little white-knuckled....but oh well!!!

thanx trishben, yes we had a wonderful time. We got to stay 2 weeks this year, i think i came home with about 200 pics!! About 20 people in my family usually go to PCB at that time, we rent the same beachhouse and apt. next door. My aunt has been renting it for over 20 years. Sad to say, that little stretch of sand with the beach houses on it may not be there much longer. I suppose the owners of the condos nearby are putting pressure on the home owners to sell .

missourigirl, what stretch are you referring to??? my husband and I rent at Inlet Beach at the west end. It is all beach houses at that end and 4 unit townhomes. Just east of 30A off of 98. The place we rent is beachfront but in Walton County. Are there beach houses at the east end of PC Beach?

Beachnut, we rent a beach house from the Mitchums, one mile west of Hooters on a short little street called Oleander drive right along the beach, the street is only 1/4 to a 1/2 mile long, and the Best Western (which is a pink building), is RIGHT next door.

I've seen Oleander. Sure missed PC Beach this year. Probably won't recognize it if we get to come next summer. Oleander is near Clara Ave.! I knew I had seen it. Those are the long streets that you can look down and see the gulf from them. They run off of Back Beach Rd. or PCB Parkway, don't they??? Can't wait until we can come back down. I miss shell collecting and going shopping in the Alvins Islands.

That sounds right, yes you can see the gulf from the street, they are all older homes down Oleander. It's a great area. Yes, we go to Alvin's Island at least once a day while we are there!! So, where do you usually go on vacation? We've been to PCB 3 times, (although my aunt and her fam. have been going for 20 yrs.) Destin once, Blue Mountain Beach once, Ft. Morgan, Alabama once. Of all the places, we loved PCB the best! It offers us everything. now, not only are we concerned that this home may sell, but my cousin (44 yrs. old) was diagnosed with lung cancer. He is part of my fam. that goes down every year. I am having a hard time with it, we grew up together, so, as much as I hope he is still here, and doing well by that time, it is the sad truth that he may not be...

PC Beach, nowhere else. We have been renting the same place for the past six years. We rent from a couple named T.C. and Pat Hager. They own another beach house right across from the townhouse of theirs we rent. But this year we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave our 12 1/2 year old dog in the vet for 9 days so we went about an hour and a half away to Chickasaw State Park and stayed in a rustic cabin on a lake for 3 nights. They have two pet friendly cabins and our dog got in the lake a couple of times. He had a great time. The extra exercise did him some good. I have pics in the photo gallery. We just can't always afford to come to the beach. That is usually an every other year thing for us. Hate to hear about your cousin. Hope things get better for him.

We rented one of those houses on Oleander for Spring Break one year... I think it was called Party-Time. I can't believe they've lasted as long as they have. However, now that they've made it through the condo boom, they may stick around for a few more years...

It seems like I've seen that sign on one of the homes....This beach house is pretty old, the apartments next to it have been updated somewhat but not the beach house itself, but it's clean and roomy and right on the beach, so it works for our large family. My husband, boys and I stay in the attached apts. because my aunt's family is extensive, it's handy. I hope you are right about them staying around for a few more years.
