Hey guys lets play a game!
'tis the Christmas season , but have you noticed that our Christmas carols are full of words that aren't really used anymore? If you can think of a weird word found in a carol post it and it's definition along with the song /verse it comes from. By learning what the words mean these songs may take on a whole new meaning as well as make allot more sense. LOL
Ex:

bough (bou)
n. A tree branch, especially a large or main branch

Song : Deck the Halls

Deck the hall with boughs of holly,

see.. makes allot more sense the song is saying deck the halls with big branches from a holly tree.... wait thats still weird why would I put branches in a hallway.... someone might get hurt...lol

Ok - the horse that’s pulling the “one horse open sleigh” has a small bells tied to his shortened tail to celebrate the Christmas season …and judging from the song not just that horse - but every horse in town. Hence the name “Jingle Bells”
This game is kinda corny,but the song does make allot more sense especially the chorus :

Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way

If all I had to ride was a horse with a bells on it's tail .. the bells would
“Jingle all the way” to where ever I was headed .
