What can $1.2 trillion really be used for?
Check out this article from the New York Times about what we could really spend $1.2 trillion on.

if the cost is 200 billion annually, and we've been in the war since summer 2003, the total cost so far is about 700 billion. where does 1.2 trillion come from?
and i wonder how much of the 200 billion is from "increased cost of oil as a result of the war" which is arguable, maybe even false. besides, you can't put a price on having a friend in the middle east and an ally in the war on terror. think bigger. p.s. no membership to view that article, so forgive me if there's explantions in the b.s. times that i didn't see..... You can read it from fark.com....
They are also including all of the disability and medical care costs that will be added to the total amount of the war, as well as military rebuilding, and then increased oil costs at the end. |

Oh, and PS... I am thinking bigger. What good is having a war resolved and then not able to take care of future generations? You can't keep an empire without someone to take care of it once you die.
